A Mankato native, Julie graduated from Mankato East High School in 1983 and Minnesota State University, Mankato, in 1988 with a Business Administrative Degree. She married Mike Drummer in 1989 and the next year they started the
Garden Center at the corner of the old Menards site. During the 1990′s Julie and Mike worked to establish Drummers Garden Center and Landscape. They opened Drummers Garden Center and Floral in October of 2000 and have been very
pleased with the new location. Along with raising two sons, Julie splits her time at Drummers between paperwork, growing and supervising the crew.

Reggie Rapier, Drummers Grower



Reggie hails from Indiana and before arriving at Drummers she was a Grower and Seeding Coordinator for Heartland Growers. Her career also included growing tuberous begonias, seed growing and plant propagation of many other species, and on top of her growing skills she did sales and support for English Gardens. She loves to learn new things about plants and is excited about learning more about shrubs and trees since she has primarily worked with herbs, vegetables, annuals, and perennials. She focuses on using environmentally friendly methods when growing plants in a greenhouse and when addressing insect and disease issues.


Marketing Coordinator

The newest member of the team! Jacqueline comes to Drummers with an array of experience in internet and business marketing and website production. She got her BA in Geography and minor in Photographer at Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2008 and then ventured to the East Coast to work for National Geographic as a Photo Editor. She says it was very inspirational to work there and learned a ton! Her love and passion for nature, gardening, the outdoors, and animals keeps her busy outside of work and has led her to the position here where she can now focus on a love of hers and help Drummers reach the people who find joy in gardening, the outdoors, and flowers!

Her other interests are ceramics, mountain biking, DIY projects, and spending time in her little camper with cats and loved ones!


Floral Manager

In the floral business for more than 15 years, Kari studied horticulture in college. As the Manager of Drummers Floral Department she takes care of ordering fresh flowers and supplies as well as designing arrangements and working with
customers and staff. Kari enjoys working on weddings, different seasonal designs and every day deliveries. She and her husband are enjoying raising their daughter. During the growing season, she dotes on her suburban yard featuring
blooming shrubs, perennials and annuals.


Landscape Designer

With Drummers since 2007, Johanna also contributes in multiple ways. She is our Landscape Designer having earned a BS in Horticulture from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a minor in Agronomy. Johanna is a Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association certified professional earning continuing education yearly. Managing the perennials plant section and helping customers with their nursery stock selections and care brings her the most joy. Her design sense doesn’t stop with gardens. She has a knack for creating just the right look for any situation. In the winter season, she can be found performing store set-up and displaying new product. Johanna enjoys vegetable and flower gardening at her home along with running, hunting and fishing in her off time.


Asst. Manager of Outdoor Sales

Brad provides advice on finding and caring for the best shrubs and trees for your landscape. He is also our go-to expert on water gardening.


Retail Greenhouse Manager

With Drummers since 2011, Geri regards our plants as her babies that she’s caring for until you adopt them! During the growing season, you’ll find Geri caring for the plants in our retail greenhouse. She also designs and executes our winter evergreens decor program and assists customers inside the store. Ask Geri about growing annual flowers, vegetables, fruit trees and perennials and she’ll have some great advice. In her off time, she and her husband care for a diverse rural landscape including vegetables, fruit trees and a hobby vineyard along with trees and perennials. She also enjoys canning her produce and cooking with it. Football, motorcycles, ceramic arts and her beloved dogs round out this artist’s life!


Office Manager

Although you might find Margaret helping out with customers in the store, she is usually focused on keeping the business end of the operation organized and flowing smoothly. With Drummers since 2012, Margaret enjoys gardening at home too.


Floral Designer

A 1987 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minn., Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree in art. Lisa’s love for flowers is inherited from her grandmother who always had a large flower garden on her Wisconsin farm. Lisa has worked in the floral industry, on and off, for several years. Her modern and stylish designs delight our customers. Away from the store, Lisa enjoys spending her free time with her three children and her husband. One of their favorite activities is travel.


Floral Designer

With a practiced and unique style, Kris provides expert service to our customers. Her first job in the industry was in 1971 as a designer, greenhouse worker and landscape assistant. Since then she’s worked as her own boss, teaching and in floral design. She has AAS degrees in Landscape Design, Floriculture and Greenhouse Management from the University of Minnesota Technical College and Bachelor’s Degrees in Horticulture Education and Agriculture Education from the University of Minnesota. Also, Kris takes great pride in earning her FTD Master Designer designation. She is also a first place winner in the Local District-4 State Area America’s Cup Design Competition. Customers rave about her work too! Along with husband Ted, Kris lives on 5 acres of wooded heaven with 1 indoor cat and 2 dogs. She also enjoys her garden and spending time on the road on a 4-wheeler, motorcycle or her trike.


Customer Service & Sales

With the staff since 2017, Sam is invaluable in a number of areas. Along with assisting customers with their horticultural needs, he also manages the warehouse. During the growing season, Sam can be found outdoors in the shrub and tree lot. A graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, Sam has a degree in environmental studies. The Okoboji, Iowa native, is interested in the community focused strategies on solving issues related to food and the environment. He has focused on the Community Supported Agriculture movement working on three farms, his own, one in St. Peter and one in Alaska and for a reclaimed building materials recycling company. “I just love getting my hands dirty and creating things every season.” In his spare time, Sam enjoys designing gardens for friends and family and exploring the southern Minnesota prairie.
