April

Promotion

Our April reusable bag perk is here, and it’s a fun one! Each time you bring your reusable Drummers bag with you while shopping this month, you can enter your name into a drawing for a $150 Drummers gift card. The more you shop with your bag, the more entries you’ll have. The winner will be drawn and announced once April comes to an end. Good luck!

What's In

We’re starting to see the first real signs of spring arrive, and it’s such a fun mix right now. There’s so much available around the store and greenhouse, with new items arriving daily and being put out as they come in. Here’s a little overview of what’s here right now:

  • Pansies, cole crops, herbs, & some veggies in the greenhouse
  • Seed potatoes, onion sets, and onion plants
  • Bare root strawberries & asparagus
  • Spring bulbs and seeds
  • New pottery and fresh garden décor
  • Early blooming perennials

What's Happening

There’s so much happening around here right now as everything starts coming together behind the scenes! Here’s a quick look at what’s been going on around here:

  • Shrub and tree lot prep underway for an end-of-month opening
  • Bare root tree planting in progress
  • Perennial and annual planting and care
  • Make & Take containers growing for May pickup
  • Floral team creating fresh arrangements
  • All departments working to bring everything to life

What To Do This Month

This is such a good time to start getting things prepped and ready for the season ahead, especially as conditions begin to allow. Here are a few things to work on this month:

  • Spray fruit trees (guide here)
  • Prune and clean up before everything fully leafs out
  • Use the Bailey Nurseries Fruit Tree Chart to plan for planting, pollination, and bloom times
  • Plant seed potatoes, onion sets, and onion plants as the ground allows (later in the month)
  • Start mapping out your garden and yard for the season
  • As temperatures warm up, begin thinking about crabgrass prevention, reseeding, and early spring perennial planting
