Fertilizing

It’s time to stop fertilizing trees, shrubs and perennials. As the days shorten, plants begin the process of hardening off for winter and the extra push from fertilizer does not help that process. By the same token, they are not actively taking up nutrients and so save fertilizer for a better time.
